The wild food season awakens in mid-July with the golden glow of cloudberries and continues until the first crisp night frosts. In the surroundings of Hotel Korpikartano and the Inari region, you'll find cloudberries, blueberries, lingonberries, delicious boletes, and even the rare Matsutake (männynherkkutatti). Each month brings its own distinct treasures.

The Enchantment of Midnight Sun and Autumn Blaze

Mid-July – Early August:
In mid-July and early August, the Lapland nature glows under the midnight sun. Bogs and hillsides are adorned with the ripening orange hue of cloudberries, the "gold of the North." The air is filled with summer scents, and the light of the nightless night bestows a unique sweetness upon the berries. During this time, the forest also offers early boletes and other initial mushrooms.

August:
As August progresses, the forests darken with carpets of blueberries, and the first boletes, such as the delicious porcini, begin to peek through the moss. Days shorten slightly, bringing fresher mornings and evenings, but nature continues to offer its abundance. The air is already a bit crisper, and morning dew glistens on the leaves of the shrubs.

September:
In September, the fells of Lapland burst into the magnificent blaze of autumn colors (ruska). Trees and shrubs glow in shades of red, orange, and yellow, creating an unforgettable spectacle. Lingonberries ripen into red strings of pearls, and the mushroom forests are at their prime, offering a diverse bounty including milk-caps, chanterelles, and even the rare Matsutake. The air is fresh and clean, filled with the scents of the forest and autumn foliage.
